We're getting ready to produce highly treated recycled water that will be delivered by dedicated pipelines to homes and industrial properties within the boundary of the Hoxton Park Recycled Water Scheme. This scheme is designed to provide recycled water to parts of new residential suburbs and industrial areas in Sydney's South West. Look for the purple pipes.
Glenfield Water Recycling Plant will produce highly treated recycled water, which will be delivered by dedicated pipelines to homes and businesses within the boundary of the Hoxton Park Recycled Water Scheme.
We'll supply recycled water to homes and industrial properties in:
Only properties with recycled water meters and fittings will receive recycled water. These meters and fittings are identified with the colour purple, so they can be easily distinguished from the drinking wter pipelines.
Properties in Hoxton Park with the purple water meters and fittings will receive recycled water when there are enough properties connected.
We plan to start operating this scheme when there are enough properties built and connected to our recycled water pipes. We need more homes to connect, so we can ensure there's enough demand for us to efficiently operate the scheme and produce recycled water in line with the Australian Guidelines for Water Recycling.
Customers in the Hoxton Park area who are set up to receive recycled water will continue to receive drinking water through their recycled water pipes until there's enough demand for recycled water. We'll notify residents before we start supplying recycled water to their property.
Under our agreement with IPART, Sydney Water produces developer servicing plans which we use to determine our charges for the recycled water schemes in Hoxton park and Rouse Hill. We review this plan every five years. We're currently reviewing submissions for our Hoxton Park Draft Development Servicing Plan 2021 as our public exhibtion period has closed.
